Cloud Importer FAQ
Answers about URLs, credits, schedules, result coverage, and missing data.
Does my browser need to stay open?
No. Importer runs on PropertyDataLabs servers. You can close the web app after the run has started and return later to view the result.
Which URL should I use?
Use a Zillow search-results URL after applying the filters you want. Do not use a single property page, map share link, or PropertyDataLabs job URL.
What is the difference between Basic and Advanced?
Basic uses search-result data and is designed for larger, lower-cost exports. Advanced also processes individual property pages and can return more detailed fields. Basic costs one credit for each Zillow results page processed; Advanced costs one credit for each primary listing processed. See Basic vs Advanced exports and Cloud run costs for examples.
How much can an Advanced multi-page run cost?
A Zillow results page can contain up to 40 primary listings, and an Importer job can process up to 20 pages. One Advanced multi-page run can therefore cost up to 800 credits. Zillow may return fewer listings or pages, so the completed result can cost less.
Do rental units inside a building cost extra credits?
No. For an Advanced rental export, the primary building listing consumes one credit. Unit details contained within that building listing do not consume additional credits, even when those units become separate rows in the exported file. A unit returned as its own primary listing is counted normally.
Do failed listings use credits?
No. During an Advanced run, a primary listing uses one credit only when PropertyDataLabs successfully retrieves its data. A listing that cannot be retrieved uses zero credits. A retrieved listing can still contain empty fields when Zillow does not provide every value. Basic runs are charged by results page rather than by individual listing.
What does “Export all listings” mean?
When off, the job exports the current or first page of the search. When on, it follows the available search-result pages. Zillow can change the result count, so the completed total may differ from the count visible when the job was created.
Why is a field empty?
The exported-field list describes fields the product can retain, not a guarantee that Zillow provides every value. Availability varies by listing type, source page, and property.
When does a schedule run?
The job page shows the next scheduled run and the timezone stored with the job. A Manual job runs only when you select Start job. See Understanding recurring Importer schedules for frequency, timezone, daylight saving time, and missed-run examples.
Can I change a job without changing old results?
Yes. Edits apply to future runs. Previous results preserve the configuration and data captured at the time of each run.
Which delivery method should I choose?
Choose one method for each job:
- None — export manually when you want to review each completed result before downloading it.
- Google Sheets when you want every completed result uploaded to a connected Google account.
- Email when you want every completed result sent as a CSV (
.csv) file to your verified PropertyDataLabs account email.
Google Sheets and Email cannot be selected together. You can change the choice later; the change applies to future runs.
Can I download a result manually after choosing Google Sheets or Email?
Yes. Automatic delivery does not remove the completed result from PropertyDataLabs. Open the job's secure result page to inspect the retained data or export it manually as CSV, Excel, Parquet, or JSON.
Use the result page if you lose access to a Google Sheet, disconnect Google Sheets, delete the delivered email, cannot access the receiving inbox, or if the result is too large to be delivered as an email attachment.
Where did my downloaded export go?
Importer result downloads are available as CSV (.csv), Excel (.xlsx), Parquet (.parquet), or
JSON (.json). Browser downloads are saved by your browser. Google Sheets results are stored in the
connected Google account. Email delivery sends a CSV to your verified account email. Background
export links appear in the applicable background-exports page and expire after 24 hours.
