Web app introduction
Learn how the PropertyDataLabs web app is organized and where to find each feature.
What the web app does
The PropertyDataLabs web app is the control center for your account. You can create and review Cloud jobs, manage export templates, connect Google Sheets, change account settings, and inspect previous results without keeping a Zillow tab open.
The web app and Zillow Data Exporter browser Extension share the same PropertyDataLabs account and subscription, but they serve different purposes. See Zillow Data Exporter and your PropertyDataLabs account for a complete explanation.
- Use the browser extension while you are browsing Zillow and want an immediate export.
- Use a Cloud job when the export should run on PropertyDataLabs servers, use a schedule, combine searches, monitor properties, or fetch full records for a saved list of URLs.
- Use Export templates when you want a reusable set and order of columns.
Finding your way around
The left navigation contains the main areas of the app:
- Dashboard summarizes recent activity, usage, and recent Cloud results.
- Extension controls web-account backups for extension exports and displays export history.
- Cloud opens Importer, Monitoring, Aggregator, and Fetcher jobs.
- Export templates manages reusable output formats for for-sale, for-rent, and sold listings.
- Settings contains your profile, billing, email preferences, linked accounts, and security.
- Feedback, Status, and Notifications provide help and account updates.
- Docs opens this documentation site.
The breadcrumb at the top of a page shows where you are. Use it to move back to a parent page, such as a job's result list. The theme button changes between light and dark appearance, and Contact support opens the support options.
Before creating a Cloud job
You need an active plan that includes Cloud features and enough Cloud credits for the job. A job does not consume credits merely because you create or edit it. Credits are used when a run processes properties. The final number depends on the job type, export depth, and number of properties found.
A job and a result are different
A job stores the source, schedule, and delivery settings. A result is the retained output from one run of that job. A single recurring job can therefore have many results.
Recommended first steps
- Check your timezone in Settings → General. Scheduled jobs and displayed timestamps use it.
- Connect Google Sheets in Settings → Linked accounts if you want a Cloud Importer job to use Google Sheets as its automatic delivery method. You can instead keep manual delivery or select Email when creating the job.
- Read the Cloud jobs overview to choose the right workflow.
- Follow Create your first Cloud export when you are ready to create a job.
